Great friends, great food, a beautiful new home, fireworks, and a grass fire-that is how I will remember Wyatt's first 4th of July!
We visited our dear friends, Aaron and Ginger Rothrock, who just moved in to the home they had built. We toured their beautiful home, had some awesome kebabs, and lit up some fireworks. How could that go south? Here's how...
A few family pictures before the firework show began...
Ahh...look at these two!
Me and my boys! All is going great at this point.
Kohen shows Hailey the explosives.
Ginger did suggest that we light the fireworks on the pavement, but Aaron (who also has a PhD) said that it would be fine to light 'em up on the grass.
The show begins and ends with a flaming bang. Keep in mind they JUST built this house and put down this sod. And, Ginger did suggest that Aaron light the explosives on the concrete.
Fireman Aaron runs out to put the fire out. In the brand new yard. In the brand new neighborhood. With the brand new neighbors. HA! These pictures really don't do justice to the situation.
In the end, both daddy's had to calm the babies, and Kohen was yelling, "Mommy hold Kohen. Mommy hold Kohen!"
In the end, all is good. The fire is out, and the new, beautiful home did NOT catch on fire. I can't say the same for the yard.
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
